Granite is a census designated place in Salt Lake County, Utah. It is a suburban community located about 25 miles south of Salt Lake City and surrounded by the Wasatch Mountains.

According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Granite has a population of more than 2,000 people. The community has a total area of 1.5Â square miles with a population density of over 1,300 people per square mile. It is located at high altitudes of over 5,000 feet above sea level.
The racial demographics of Granite are 95.29% White, 0.59% African American, 0.30% Native American, 1.59% Asian, 0.35% Pacific Islander, 0.64% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race are 1.83% of the population.
